is it still advisable to take the CG then NCLEX or go straight ahead with nclex?

Foreign graduate nurses usually take CGFNS first. You may also go straight ahead with NCLEX but not all states allow that-only selected States. CGFNS certificate is needed by most states if you are trying to get a working visa.
