I know how to speak Bengali fluently, and my voculabulary is extensive enough. However, I cannot read or write the language. Are there any free online lectures or sites or anything available?

I should perhaps clarify that I can't speak Hindi fluently (I'm learning), and I can't read it either.

I'm a native speaker of Bengali myself. Go to this website, and check out the websites in the 'link' section. http://www.omniglot.com/writing/bengali.htm . I can also tell you a few things about it. The script is used like the Hindi devnagari script, but some pronunciations are inconsistent with writing. For example the number one is written in Bengali as "Ek" but is pronounced more like "Ack". If you know the language well it will be easier for you but you still have to memorize a lot of pronunciations. 'Sa'ndip and 'Sa'ndesh are not pronunced in a similar way but they begin with the same syllable 'Sa' and not 'So'(in case of 'shondip').

You have to know the Bengali alphabets and their pronunciation. Try to buy a basic Bengali grammar book. You can check the following website.

if you know english take two books which are same and look at the english word first and then look in the bengali book

to learn bengali plz use ur heart & mind together b,coz bangali language is also easy to read & write as hindi or english .
