When Islam is practiced properly, people do live a decent life style. Women are respected and treated well, the sick, disabled and poor are taken care of, people dress modestly and business is conducted with honesty. Unfortunately there are cultures and people with free will who choose to practice Islam as they wish and often cause great damage to its reputation.

I came from a poligamist religion that defines your life, but the poligamist part was not practised because of the laws of the land, which I find funny, Muslims come over here with two wives and live and even though its against the law, they get away with it, anyways, as a Mormon, who did not disobey the law, I still felt the poligamist part of what a women feels anyways under the shadow of poligamy, I felt, even if it was not practised. The women int he church will say they like living that way, being a housewife and having lots of kids, but I never felt that there was some brianwashing going on, and some mind control, the roles of men and women were too defined and you could not brake the molds that the church had created. IE, my Dad did not want me to get an education or join the military or even leave the house until i got married. The roles were too ridgid for me. I thought some of the women seemed to be almost barefoot and pregant and wore out all the time. So in my opinion, no, Islam would be even more ridgid on its women because they do practise Poligamy and with that would come a second wife possibly and jelousy and more kids from the second wife, fighting for time with the husband over the second wife and so on and so on, plus not to mention the cloths you must wear in the Burqua is so hot in the summertime, I know I wore it before in an international festival.

Yes. Islam is a comprehensive way of life. It deals with all aspects of life, Social, Economical, Political, Legal, Finance and spiritual issues. Why, because the guidance and the laws have been laid out by God and his messenger and not by humans.

Islam CAN be a good life style. Any moral philosophy can be a good life style. You have to look beyond the extremists that make everyone look down upon Islam. Do a little research..

I don't think religion defines a person's lifestyle it is an add-on. Those who's lives are defined by Semitic religions may be in bad shape.

Islam is a religious discipline, not a lifestyle.
Geez, will you guys please stop appending the word 'lifestyle' to everything. It gets really tedious.

Jesus Christ lived in the first century and he taught us to love. Love even your enemies.
Jesus said that if we love God and our neighbor we fulfill ALL the Law and the Prophets.
Nothing can be added and it cannot be improved on.
