So Americans drink coffee like there's no tomorrow, and it is the stereotype of Britain that they are big on tea, but how popular is coffee (including espresso drinks) in the England?
I really appreciate your honest responses; as an american planning on studying in London, I want to fit in and learn as much about British culture and traditions as possible. Thanks! ;)

Really? Oh, that's such good news!
I'm really into coffee, and haven't quite developed the palate for tea. I'd love to be taught how to differentiate the teas and enjoy them, but I'd also like to grap a latte daily!
Thank you so much for your response...an for not making fun of us stupid americans! I just really want to learn about your country! Thanks again! ;)

yes we drink coffee, tea is probably still more popular though
tea and coffee have different roles, tea is drank more at home or a friends house, whereas coffe is drunk in the workplace or by busy people on the go.Im just speaking generally of course
the idea of espressos, mocha, frappe whatver fancy type coffees is relatively new in England/UK/GB (past 10 years) but is now firmaly established
American cultural imperialism taking over just like anywhere else in the world. Not that Im complaining much in this instance, because I actually love a good cappucino! :)
Starbucks and the like are everywhere here now

yep, u can certainly find a good cup of coffee in england...as an american who lived in london a few years back, i was definitely happy to find that coffee is served in most restaurants, cafes, etc...naturally, the traditional english tea is still served as well, but to be honest, even as a confirmed anglophile i never did come to enjoy tea over coffee...

Yes they do, but it´s very weak coffee, like in America actualy.
I remember having to add Nescafe (YUCK) to it so it would taste of something.
