When I align right the whole text aligns right. How do I fix it so only the text I want to align right aligns. I tried highlighting and doing it but I get the same result.

On the top of the page ......to the right....there are 3 icons...one for L. align, one for Center and one for R.
Just click on the one for Right.

Go to the menu bar and select format. Then select paragraph in the dialog box set alignment to right. Press ok.

For a paragraph to be aligned right, select it and click the right align button..
For a line to be aligned, do the same

highlight desired text/image and whist highlighted, press CTRL + R
