Hard-core evolution advocate, Catholic, and I never thought there were WMD's (so yes ... WGC).
I am surprised at how well the answers here are confirming your suspicions. It seems to be true that creationists are indeed more vulnerable to believing anything their leaders tell them.
I would add to that the global warming question ... I would bet good money that people who reject evolution also reject global warming ... these people have been taught from an early age to distrust scientists, and trust religious leaders who tell them what political leaders to trust.
This is precisely why I believe that fundamentalism leads to anti-Democratic, anti-American behavior. A democracy *depends* on the education of its people ... and fundamentalism is anti-education.
Or another way to put it is that fundamentalism is all about destroying the "question authority" instinct that is basic to democratic principles (i.e. why we have a first ammendment) and was basic to the founders. The entire constitution was set up to keep power spread out, because authorities can abuse power (as this President has done). But fundamentalism is all about submission to a higher authority. It is fundamentally anti-democratic.

I am a creationist..I think at some point there was WMD..I think they were taken elsewhere..however, having said that...I honestly wonder about a lot of things..one minute everyone was going after Bin Laden then the focus suddenly changed to Saddam...I think it was all handled wrong....however, Saddam can never hurt those people ever again. Oh, I am a christian also.

The climate does change. NATURALLY It's a NATURAL process that has nothing... ~~~ABSOLUTELY NOTHING~~~ to do with the actions of humans. No one knew the status of Sadam's WMD. That's why we went over there to look. What would have happened if he DID have them? What would you think about the situation then? Sarah Palin is a whack-a-do. But I'm willing to take a chance on her. Can't to any worse than Bush, Clinton or Obama. Creationism vs. Evolution... Different sides of the same coin. I couldn't care less. Glad I could clear that up for you.

This is not how mythology works, my good sir. Mythology is there to address purely practical concerns. It deals with health politics. It helps the interests of the guilty by giving them stalling time before they confess. In the meantime, as a result of having been responsible for human death, they are sick but they have a way to rely on their archetype (married, a bit lazy etc.) to do the talking for their "innocence" so they have time to get to hospital for treatment.
I'm a bit suspicious of anything starting with capitals like that. It looks like a criminal euphemism. There's a surprising amount of truth around us, I think. People do not do the hard work of retelling history. They retell the archetypal history and let that say volumes more when repeated by all the rest who also buy into mythological archetypes for their livelihood - mostly the paid workforce and everybody who thinks it would be good to be in the paid workforce. For example, a "genuine modern drama" on the back of a video about adultery means that somebody in Hollywood got cheated on only just recently and looks to stand a good chance of getting a good divorce payout so somebody has decided to stick it to them by rushing a new movie through with obvious references to those in the know about what the real life basis for it was.
WMD could just as easily be a code reference to people - human beings. A weapon is anything used against an opponent or adversary. Satan is the adversary. Maybe it's a reference to Christians by other Christians who don't realise it's not Christian to code Christians. Maybe it refers to Christians who kill or even just perform surgery. It could very well be a reference to a Dr Mengele, and that's what I'm going to put my bet on. The confusion arises when people don't know what the code sequence is. Maybe it's really a Mass of Weapons Destruction. They've got Gandhi.
But I don't think anybody has that much time or energy for trumping things up.
I'm creationist, Christian and WMD in some sort of weird funny-to-somebody-who-likes-game-theory way.

I am a Christian, and creationism is obvious to only the most stubbornly deluded of fools. There were WMD's in Iraq at one point, and everyone in the world, including Bill Clinton and the KGB, believed it to be true. Were they still there after the invasion? Probably not, but that doesn't change the fact that they were to begin with. Your revisionist history is rather childish actually.

Saddam had WMDs. We know he used them. The question is, where did they go?
I am a rational person who studies evolution and although I hate the entrenched two-party system, I am more aligned with the Republicans.

He had WMD's and all the Christians in America know it.
Evil Sadaam was killed along with his evil sons for being EVIL because all Christians have God's authority and mandate to kill EVIL people.
God also wants Christians to bomb, maim, and wound. He wants Christians to leave children orphans and make many fine men legless, armless, and their children in total pain.
This is God's will to kill the EVIL people.
Sadaam is EVIL, he had to die.
As for the religious right, they wear halos.
Now whatever Jesus meant when he said to love our enemies is anyone's guess..
As a Christian, I believe we are to Love even our enemies.
And it pains me to see how little the teachings of Jesus are followed. He preached a beautiful message of love for all men everywhere and to take his message to "every creature"
May God bless all countries everywhere.
