Well I am 17 ( turning 18 in July ) and I want to buy some things on ebay. If I create an account with a wrong birth date is there going to be a problem. Is the birth date on ebay just a formal rule the government came up with. The other possibility is if I register my mother with my debit card and my adress ( I live alone ) but when they send the thing will I be able to receive it?

Ebay powerseller for the past 4 years.

You can go ahead & fudge your information, but don't do anything that will cause your account to be suspended, otherwise, Ebay will require a license (copy) to be faxed to them to verify your identity.

You can also use her debit card, and yes, you can receive the item. Just use your name. The address has to match what is on the debit card, otherwise, it will get rejected.

You have to be 18. When you set up an account you have to have a bank account, whether your buying or selling. I wouldn't do anything foolish like trying to sign up as an 18 year old. If you can do it under parental guidance, why not do it that way?
