The Bible is the WORD of God;
Jesus Christ was the WORD of God, made
flesh. The Word of God is a gift to mankind because the Word IS Christ who paid the price for our sins.
Yes, the Bible is a gift from God.
Rev 22:18-19, if memory serves me they
would be the verses that warn you not to
add or delete anything from the prophecies
of the Book.
Actually, the manuscripts contain a much,
much harsher warning against doing it.
You would probably not want someone to take a gift you have to give, open it, add to it or change it in some way, without your consent, would you? This is the only way
I can see to relate between your question and those verses.

Compare Revelation 22:20 with Philippians 2:16 - "And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain."
Why did Paul expect to see the day of Christ if John was still quoting some kind of heavenly creature as saying that it was yet to come. I don't think it was. I think that Revelation is a rude although sometimes illuminating look at how the dark side does its best to clone God's side of things. This is a dark side attempt at saying that Jesus' involvement somehow ceased after his return to heaven and would have to wait until some event was important enough to return his attention to earth. This is as obnoxious as Satan's original taunt to Eve.
But I still think that the Bible is a useful book for showing a faint trace of historical figures who put God first. How much the book has been tampered with is another question. I'm not saying that people deliberately lie when they change things. They just skip the bits that make them look bad. I think that a lot of this has probably been corrected for in the Bible though.
There's a bit more to it than just reading it. It's full of metaphor. If you are involved in any activities that are supportive of cults - paid job or anything else - you will not get the metaphor in the Bible.

Rev. 22:18, 19 is talking about the book of Revelation. Keep in mind that Revelation was written *before* the Gospel of John and the letters of John. If this verse applies to the whole Bible, then John added the plagues Revelation to himself!

this is speaking of the book of revelations. it is like the rock hewn out of the mountain in moses day. it is the little book hewn out of the big book, so to speak. it is a culmination of the entire bible from genesis to revelations , all in one book. this was the rock which jesus was speaking of that the church would be built upon. peter had the revelation of the Son of man which Is the revelation of Jesus Christ. That is what this book is, the revelation of Jesus Christ. the Bible represents God and God is not a gift but the giver of gifts. His Son,Jesus Christ is a gift from God to us.
that is what i believe is meant in revelations 10. this was christ with a "LITTLE" book open. Christ revealing His own words to the church/bride thru a prophet at the end-time. i believe that prophet was William Branham.
you may read online his life story(april '59), exposition of the seven church ages, and revelation of the seven seals(march '63) at www.branham.org or purchase all 1182 of his sermons for $15 at www.daysofthevoice.com. i also recommend listening to www.leevayle.net, his series on godhead, rapture, presence, and paradox are very good

St Paul did say the Bible is god-breathed. Thats like inspired by God, and if he inspires the bible wouldn't u consider the bible a gift from him? After all he must have breathed out the bibble for a reason...

Everything necessary for a complete walk with GOD from the moment you accept Jesus into your heart to the moment you become the Bride of Christ is within the Bible. It is magical and awe inspiring as it confounds the wise and welcomes those who want to believe in Christ with child like simplicity. It appears to contradict itself to the selfish and proud and yet is rock solid and the original text is unchanged. GOD is all over the Bible. Short of our personal relationship with Christ, the Bible is the Christians best friend.

I agree. On the tv show jeopardy, Alex Trabec asked what translation of the bible was correct. Everyone got it wrong so Alex told them it was The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures .

The scriptures are from God; however, there are also some additions of man in the Bible to the scriptures that many man has not 'weeded out' presently in this country.

me the bible is written by people who have heard a message from god and they write their messages that weere sent by god into a book and it turns into a bible so yes a bible is a giift from god telling us how he think s we should behave and some of christian history(i think there is another religion that uses a bible though)
