Sometimes swimming isn't good. Dogs can get swimmer's itch. They could have mange or any number of infections/allergies. You really need to see a vet. See if there's a low cost clinic in the area.

The dogs can very well have allergies. It is a job determining the cause but you can start with their food. If it is a low grade that may be the problem. Pet stores sells food especially for allergies and it is stated on the bags. Your vet can also give your dogs a shot to prevent all the scratching. Not too expensive. Give your vet a call & try the shots. I have used the shots on dogs with allergies and they work really well. Good luck. I know first hand watching a dog scratch all the time is nerve racking on the owner & the dogs.

salt water would dry out the skin and usually a dogs itching is from dry skin.
My best advice sorry is the vet or shamppos for itchy skin. I use a oatmeal shampoo for my dogs (helps with itchy skin). Unfortunately you pay for what you get so the cheaper shampoos are not very good for dogs with these problems.
They could have an allergy and sometimes this is a long expensive process to find out what the allergy is and how to treat it.
Perhaps change their food, some dogs have skin conditions with food colours and additives but again cheaper food is worse for their condition.
If they get really bad they will cause cuts and sratches wich may become infected..then there will be no choice but to go to the vet!
I know i havent helped a lot but good luck!

I live in Florida and have my dogs on multiple forms of flea treatment and they STILL get fleas. There is just no way to completely remain flea free in Florida if the dogs ever go outdoors. They may not survive after biting the dog due to the flea treatments, but they can still cause itching.
Make sure when your dogs get treated that your house and yard are treated as well, otherwise the fleas will find their way back.
Other things to consider would be food or grass allergies. Many dog foods contain wheat products and many dogs are allergic to it. Your vet can recommend an elimination diet regimen to determine if food allergies are the case.

I also live in Florida and I do believe it's a combo of the weather, humidity, grass, fleas, and all those other "wonderful" things we have to deal with. Avoid the ocean since it will dry out their skin. Do not bathe too much and do add a teaspoon of either Olive or Flaxseed oil to their food. I know the Flax has helped my dogs tremendously.

Why is it you don't think they have fleas? Is it just because you don't see any? If that is the case they likely do. Fleas only spend 5% of their time on your dog and the rest they spend in your home. A fleas eggs can hatch up to a year after being laid. I would make SURE they don't have fleas before going on with other possibilities because fleas is the most likely scenario.

I have several inside dog's--they tend to get dry skin--try putting a humidifier where they stay--it helped mine with the itching!! Puts moisture back in the air!

most likely food allergies ( also ocean swimming makes the dogs extremely itchy) salt is very drying... feed premium high quality dry kibble only...call the breeder and see if allergies are in their lines.... since it is BOTH dogs,, it could be the salt water and it could be flea bite deramtitis,, are you positive that they don't have fleas

If you bath them, maybe you arent washing the shampoo out properly. Maybe they are allergic to the grass or have a skin infection.
