MULTI VISA -
The difference between single and multi visa is that with this visa the owner can enter the country not once, but some limited number of times (for example. 3, 5, 10) or unlimited times, till visa valid.
Sometimes some of the countries enter into the visas the time limit - number of days which the owner can spend in the country , not leaving it. In this case usually imply, that you have M/N visa class , where M – the number of times which you can enter the country, and N - the number of days that you can stay during one visiting.-

Are you referring to a UK visa? Is it a visit visa? If yes and yes, then a multi entry visa allows you to enter as a visitor for a period of up to 180 days. You may use it to enter multiple times during its validity so long as your intentions and circs have not materially altered so as to render the visa void. Each time you leave then your "days stayed clock" returns to zero but if you stay for more than 180 days in a single stint - without leaving - then you will be an overstayer. Ditto if you remain beyond the expiry date.

Multiple entries - Means you can get in and out of the country for the period the visa is valid...
Single Entry - Means you have to apply for a visa each time you want to re-enter a country regardless of whether the previous visa is valid or not.
