In the bible it says that God loves us and if you dont worship and believe in him you will go to hell and burn in a lake of fire for eternity. Lets say you were God......and your mom, dad children, cousins, aunts uncles in whom you love did not worship you or believe you existed, would you send them to a lake of fire for eternity and let them suffer in pain ???? Does it make sense for a higher being to torture the ones he love just because they dont believe in him? Its like killing all the ants just because they do not worship me ................................. give me your opinions and comments and what you think.

You're dad loves you. But if you didn't obey him, didn't believe in him, there'd be some consequences, right?
It's just in a higher form.

If a judge let a child rapist free, that'd be a corrupt judge, right?
Well, again, it's just in a higher form.

As the judge, God cannot let sinning free to go.
God cannot be a Corrupt Judge.

Hell is not punishment--it's a natural consequence of Christian cosmology.

How can you go to be with God if you don't believe in Him? How is that possible/logical? For God to pull that one off would truly be a miracle!

The last thing a psychologist should ever do is cater to the delusions of his patient. Believe me, crazy people are very good with logic.

Christians thought themselves into their beliefs, and they are not going to think their way out. What you need to do is dunk their heads in cold water. Teach them--from the ground up--to think rationally. Make it impossible for them to think the way they do now.

Unfortunately, our public education system is not going to do this. It may take media outreach--like maybe if sitcom characters would occasionally stop and say, "Why do I believe this?" Then they'd trace back their thoughts and identify the false premise that corrupted their logic. Or maybe a character could realize, "I've been completely unconscious this entire time. None of my thoughts have had anything to do with the real world for over six years! All this--all this nonsense--it's been for nothing!" Then the show would end, because the character would stop provoking endless drama through her mindless actions. They'd be forced to replace the sitcom with educational programming.

"I cant believe in all the religous stuff that others believe in because my brain and the intelligence it contains tells me it is a lot of gibberish."

Yeah, some of the most intelligent people in the history of the world--St. Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, the authors of the Torah and Gospels--were all less intelligent than you. Sure, they were pretty smart, but they lacked those five or ten IQ points that would have told them Christianity is a lot of gibberish.

Claiming to be "too smart" for Christianity is a terrible argument.

Good question:

Why Hell? Why not just nonexistence? What's the purpose of the torture? Is that Love? What would one learn from eternal torture?

Christians can't answer these questions. They don't like to think about it. Most Christians don't think, and the ones that do contrive their answers to fit their suppositions. Such as, "It's all true about heaven and stuff, just not the part about burning in Hell. Hell is simply separation from God."

But that's not what the Bible says, and if one accepts the Biblical Heaven then one must accept the Biblical Hell.

Clearly it is all just a control mechanism by the architects of Christianity. The 'carrot and the stick' as it has been said. And not factual in the least.

God created me to not believe in him and so I must burn in hell...doesnt life suck.

I cant believe in all the religous stuff that others believe in because my brain and the intelligence it contains tells me it is a lot of gibberish. God created me thet way and planned my life the way it has gone and what will happen in the future. I still cant believe in him so I must spend eternity in Hell.

God is such a nice being isnt he...

unfortunately for me I have my own moral standards to help others and try to prevent harm to others, but this isnt enough as I dont believe in God I will spend eternity in Hell.

Am I worried, no I've been to Hell it is warm and sunny and there is a good (very small) bar there. However with Global warming that hell will be underwater so I will spend Eternity underwater.

Life sucks at the end of it all..

Look if you love God none of this other stuff will matter, would you live forever with someone who hates you,God is love itself He just dosen`t feel love as we do He is Love itself, it`s author, and all who desire to live with Him for all eternity must be of this love too.
We must try to come away from this immature thinking that God throws people into Hell because they do not measure up,just as oil and water cannot ever mix together,so neither can those who do not love God live in His presence, they will realize that they do not and cannot belong in the same place and space as the holy and loving God, and so they will know in an instant where their rightful place of eternity will be, and Hell is nothing more than the absence of Gods love.

you'd be crushing the ants that DID worship you... because that is the way of the saviour... to sacrifice. Of course, I don't get it myself. I don't think I could sacrifice my life for another unless it was my child or lover or sibling or parent... or how about any family member? Crushing individual ants versus an entire colony, the point it... you need witnesses to testify.

God gave all authority in heaven and in earth to Jesus only. That authority is enabled in the all authoritative words of Jesus. And His Words will be the basis and standard of judgment on the last day.

Yep, that is totally illogical. If a god is big enough to make all this, what would he care what we believed or thought. Did you ever consider the religion of your ant farm? If he is that egotistical how is he worthy of our worship? My three year old is past that point.

It's just a marketing technique for religion - the carrot and stick approach. Religious leaders need lots of followers so that they can maintain their power, wealth and prestige. Threatening eternal torture is just part of the package, a way to compel people to follow them.
