If you had a refund coming, nothing would happen. If you owe, you'll end up paying interest and penalties. If it's just a few days late, that won't add up to much unless you owe a very large sum.

Tuesday is the filing deadline. If you have a refund coming, no penalty. If you have a balance due, the failure to file penalty is 5% a month for a maximum of 5 months, and failure to pay is about 1/2% a month. If you file and pay by friday, you may fall within the tolerance level, and owe no addtional, unless you have a large balance due.

You have until 11:59 pm Tuesday night.

After that you have to pay penalties on any money you owe.
