stud?? in dogs, i am trying to get a dog and some adverts say 'only for stud not for sale' thanks a lot

LOL! Stud means a breeding male for the purpose of inseminating a female. People pay a fee for this service. The dog is not for sale.

A stud is just a male dog that the owner uses to get the female dogs pregnant. SO they might not have pups but if you Had a female you could use the stud for a price

Stud means you pay a fee for letting it be bred with an animal you already own, it does not mean the actual dog is for sale. Its used with pedigrees.the same term is used in horses, look up stud horses on google and it will all become clear x

stud means the dog is only avabile to be bred with another dog of its peddigre and the owner only wonts money from the breeding and not from the sale of the dog !

It means that this is a male dog that can be used for "servicing" a female that is in season in order to breed puppies. The dog is not for sale but his "services" are!!

It means that it is only being used for breeding, so if you had a female you could take it to them
