She is the nastiest person you can u can hope to meet. In fact, the crap that she goes on with is almost unbelievable, would make "day of our lives" look normal. But i can't walk away from it, so how do i ignore it or move on with it as i am so over it.

Rennie, dear, you have put up with this behavior for so long.

And yet, this is your husband's sister. I have to assume he and you agree on the situation.

It isn't as if you have control over this. Sister is going to behave however she wants. However, you can choose to not have it be an issue in your home.

Your children only need to understand that Grandma and Auntie are adults and will make their own choices. "Well, son, that is what Grandma gets to choose to do." They do not need to be informed of every snub.

On the other hand, you can still make choices, too...."So, we've decided to barbeque today."

If you do not discuss these persons it is easier to continue on with your activities of daily living. Focus on your day, your family, and your responsiblilities. These are the things you can control. Let the rest go.

What exactly is she doing (or saying) that annoys you so much? Does she bother everyone or just you? Have you ever thought of confronting her? I know confronting someone is a difficult thing to do, but what is the worst thing that can happen?
Or how about just avoiding her all together? Does she live with you guys? Does she visit you often? Is your husband close to her? These are the questions you should be asking because the answers will give you an idea as to what you should do.

I have a similar SIL. I just stay away. There is always a good reason why I can't go over to the MIL's house. I've even been known to work an extra shift. There is nothing to be gained by starting a war.
