Possible, but hugely statistically unlikely.
Consider a man who says he's Napoleon. In order for him to be sane and correct, everyone else would have to be not just insane, but experiencing the same, identical hallucination - that Napoleon is long dead, didn't look like this guy, was French rather than from Bolton, etc. etc. Not very likely.
Reality in this sense is democratic: whatever the majority believe to be true, is taken to be true. There are many threads to this, of course: it's pretty universally accepted in our parts of the world that the thing that comes up every morning is the Sun, our local star. But in a few localities, that big shiny thing is God. It's a consensus reality.
(Not, by the way, to be confused with the moronic notions that constitute the local reality of the Ramtha School of Enlightenment, who believe that reality will just plop into whatever shape you imagine it to be. This is a delusion, a wish-fulfilment fantasy created by a wilful misinterpretation of quantum physics.)
When you get to contentious aspects, two opposing realities can exist alongside each other in a constant battle. There are many - including all the actual experts on the subject - who fully endorse the fact of evolution. Alongside them is a parallel consensus among the ignorant or deluded that evolution is a vile, godless plot without foundation.
There *is* an ultimate reality, and the consensus reality tends asymptotically toward it. Loonies, on the other hand, regard the local consensus reality as a suggestion rather than a rule.

When I interned at a hospital, I spent some time working in the psychiatric unit. After spending some time with paranoid schizophrenics and manic depressives, I'd have to say no. It was definitely them doing the hallucinating.

Possibly. The cool thing though is that math holds in all realities, as all we did is take a fixed length and subdivide it into units, called numerals. These numerals can be reapplyed anywhere.
Science is based on the use of math, but I suppose it could be wrong if everything we use to detect our universe is also wrong, but that is highly unlikely.

It's about time I got some recognition.
Thanks, J.
(And it's not so much a dream or hallucination as a world that has been pulled over your eyes).

Ahhh ! Someone with a mind, yes this is possible but it is also possible that we exist not rather are someone's or things dream,or perhaps rapture has happened and our lives we now relive, there are a thousand different possibilities.
I've often in my volunteer work thought 'are we the ones normal or are the so called retarded?'

I definitely see the possibility.
I believe I see the truth, and I've been called insane (not clinically, by a pro), as well as evil, sinner, you name it. Even my own mother thinks the truths I speak are crazy.

Yes, but what the hell does that mean. do you think you are insane. Like they all say, define insanity, no definition of such a thing would please me. I would be insane by any definition they would conjure up. I don't know what I am typing. I am seeing double.

People with various mental disorders have often been insightful beyond normal capability.(such as being able to describe the previous owner of a house without knowing them) Of course being dismissed as delusion.
Don't forget that because something is described as unhealthy medically, doesn't make it true.
