Well if I had kids... furious. Education and Religion are two separate issues and its time our governments realised it.

They still do that? They did when I went to school, but back then we still said the Our Father in class every morning along with the pledge of allegiance. I would think that would be considered innapropriate nowadays, since schools are no longer allowed to formally endorse one religion over another. I don't understand how it is they are allowed to do that. I don't have any children in school, but if I did, I would want them to back off choices that are up to me to make for my children. The school shouldn't allow that. I don't have anything against giving out free bibles to people who want them, but that shouldn't be institutionalized or endorsed by the school system. I'm not even against a moment of quiet every morning for personal prayer or reflection, as long as they aren't telling the kids who they have to pray to, or how they have to pray. They should go around to local vacation bible schools or sunday schools instead, and make sure all the kids have thier very own bibles, they would get better reception about that. If the school is going to allow that, they should allow equal time to the other religions, and we all know good and well it's not likely they will. If it were a problem to me, I would contact the principal and the school district.

I'd feel that it would be important enough to contact the head of the school to let them know my views as a parent, regarding religious intrusion into the school environment. I'd also want to know their reason for having allowed this to happen too, without my parental consent.
Good luck! Rob

they dont just do it in schools they do it in hospitals, hotels and doctor sugerys. it costs alot to do things on that kind of scale. i believe it is a form of mind control. however i never read the bible my school gave me. My son was given one as a leaving present from his junior school. he has not touched it he is now 15. at least theyre not knocking on your door.

I personally have made my choice regaurding God and religion. But that doesnt mean my child has. I want her to be able to make her own choices. And these days school are teaching our children about sex and homosexual's and nobody seems to have a whole lot of issues why the hell would i have an issue whith my child learning about something with morals and principals.

When my kids were in school, they did that, but not inside the school. Also, they give out bibles at the college I attend.
I have no problem with it.

That would be so much nicer than free condoms. A great idea.
Evidence as to the moral decay taking hold and why we, as a nation, are on the fast track to Hell. So go ahead now and prove my point by piling on the "thumbs down" marks.
