The first time I got married I had a Scottish Country Dancing band play at the reception for the first couple of hours and everyone danced. After we had a little bit of food and then we had a DJ play music for the rest of the night. This time around we aren't doing that, we're just playing music through a sound system linked to the PC, as it is a small garden party there seemed no need for a DJ or band.

No i didn';t because our wedding was on a budget. We had a sit down meal for 35 and then just enjoyed the evening with mingling with background music. Didn't have the money for a disco or DJ. Still had a fantastic time. However my sis gets wed next week and she had got a saxophonist playing during the sit down meal then in the evening she has got a DJ and buffet. She wasn't on a budget though.
That being said I;d not change anything about my big day as i loved it.

My cousin got married last night and they had dancing there at the reception after the wedding ceremony. My family forced me to get out and dance when I didn't want to.
I had a good time at my cousin's wedding.

ive never been to a wedding that did the so-called traditional first dance, father-daughter dance etc. but i would like to have it at mine..unfortunately i dont have a big budget and i dont feel that dancing in the church reception hall is appropriate and if we try to drive across town for the reception, half the guests would probably not follow...so not having dancing is A-OK.

Yes, but it was the first wedding I'd been to with dancing. So not having dancing isn't that uncommon at all.

Nope, I value my toes and my husband has 2 (maybe 3 or 4 )left feet....
While we were dating he danced with me and we ended uo in the E.R. getting my foot casted... A lesson was learned when the big oaf says "I can't dance" it's not best to test the claim while he is wearing work boots and you are barefoot....
It's a good thing I didn't fall for him based on the assumption he was graceful..

There was dancing at the reception and plenty of it! However if you are having a small reception with just cocktails and cake then dancing is not really expected.
