Depending on the brand, my jeans are size 0, 3 and I have one pair of 2's. I am 5' and 102 lbs. As far as losing weight, my doctor told me years ago, and they still say this, eat 5-6 snack size meals throughout the day. This way, you always have something in your body to burn. If you eat fewer larger meals, your body will only burn off so many calories and the rest turns to fat. I didn't do this to lose weight. That's just the way I ate.
If you follow the diet that a diabetic has to go by, you will lose weight. They eat 6 meals a day and watch their sugar intake. You don't have to cut out all your sugars, just some. You can also substitute sugar for Splenda. Just don't forget the exercise. You have to have exercise in addition to healthy eating or no diet will ever work.

It depends on your height but if you are an average 5' 4" then size 9 is about right. If taller maybe an 11, if shorter maybe a 7. Stop eating so much if you want to lose weight and start exercising.

It really depends on your height and build. I'm 5'9" so being about a size 12 makes me look lean and mean. It's been a while since size 12 though, but I'm beginning to get back there. If you want to lose weight exercise 30 minutes every day (even if it's just walking up and down the stairs on your lunch break). Stop drinking things that aren't water or other calorie-free drinks (although I have to say be careful with diet drinks--my sister and cousin are both allergic to asparthame), stop eating fried food, stop eating processed food (hot dogs, processed cheese, etc.), and educate yourself about portion sizes. Replace ground beef in recipes with vegetarian crumbles. Taste and texture is pretty good, esp. if you add a splash of A1. Find yourself a support network to keep you going when it's hard to stay on track; that's what has kept me on track with my healthier me plan. Three friends are changing their lifestyles with me, and they've helped me to lose almost 25 pounds.

The ideal combo has always been 36-24-36 (bust-waist-hips). The best way to lose weight is to get out and do tons of cardio.

It is all about how it all fits together. It is about finding the weight that fits you, and makes you how you want to look. If you are doing it for someone else (us guys) you will only do it when it pays off. The way to lose weight and keep it off it to do it for yourself and how you want to do it.

I think the best size for a woman to be is mostly whatever size she is happy/comfortable being. There are some exceptions like anorexia, of course.
