I think that the best reason for the miracles not being able to be explained is because science has not advanced that far to know (and sometimes just dumb luck). Science has more backing it than religion ever will, and religion's foothold on this earth is sliding towards the cliff more and more every day.
First, science took away the belief that the sun revolved around the earth - Religion gets kicked right in the nuts. Then, science proved that a force called gravity made objects fall, and not some God - total obliviation. It gets more and more each day, and I think it's better to be on the winning team, don't you?

Natural forces are at work. They are a part of the universe. God created the universe. Therefore, He created the natural forces also. But because He created those natural forces, that doesn't mean that He can't over-rule those natural forces at any moment of time. God is not a slave to his own creation(in this case natural forces). For Him to create anything that He Himself had to obey would be like building a jail cell from the inside out and then when you have it built, you lock it and throw the key away. Now you're locked up in your own creation. That would be stupid. God is not stupid. God can over-rule His natural forces any time He feels like it. When He does, they have a name for that. It's called a miracle.
Therefore, you have natural forces and miracles and there is no contradiction between the two. You asked "What side am I supposed to choose"? Choose God or, more specifically, choose Christ.

Think of God not as a static being but rather a dynamic becoming, then you would understand how scientific findings would agree with nature as God's creation. Miracles of yesterdays are technologies today. What early men cannot do and decipher before, they call it miracle and what modern man can understand and create they call it science.

DNA and its complex function is a miracle. Plant life is a miracle. Which came first the seed or the plant? Life force in inanimate matter is a miracle. gravity, planetary orbits, water cycle, nitrogen cycle, production of all the lesser elements that can't be created by fusion is a miracle, universe is a miracle, property of water is a miracle, 200 other cosmic constants that sustain life on earth are miracles. I would go for the miraculous since we wake up everyday to it!
God bless you!

Bravo...! I don't think you need other paople to answer your first question because you have answer it yourself in your second question.
If you read the Holy Quran, God explain all that is being proof by the scientist as a natural forces. And in the early generation there is nothing like scientist to proof all this. If God isn't real all this thing would not have being mentioned in the holy Quran we would have wait for the scientist to come and discover them for us. Can any scientist look at you and tell you when you will die? Believe it God is real!

God is the natural forces at work. I would love to see science be able to explain a miracle.

Chose the side of reason. God made the heavens and the earth through the natural forces and what we call the laws of science, which God also created. You do not have to abandon reason to believe in God.

You don't need to choose a side. God exists. Nature exists. Science helps explain some things, theology helps explain others. They can and do exist together.
Science is mans proof.
Miracles are God's.
Cheers :-)

To repeat a quote I heard - isn't it enough to enjoy the garden without having to believe there are fairies underneath?
Just because science hasn't found all the answers, does not mean that religion automatically fills the void.
