New scientific data is out on tea. They now believe that drinking tea can not only help with memory and concentration but it may have some effect on Alzheimer patients. They found that Green tea and black tea hinder the activity of the enzyme butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE), which has been discovered in protein deposits which are found on the brain of patients with Alzheimer's.
Green tea went one step further in that it obstructed the activity of beta-secretase, which plays a role in the production of protein deposits in the brain which are associated with Alzheimer's disease. Scientists also found that it continued to have its inhibitive effect for a week, whereas black tea's enzyme-inhibiting properties lasted for only one day.

If you can afford one, buy a Nintendo DS handheld. Then purchase Brain Age and maybe Big Brain Academy. They both have memory and brain boosters that are fun to do and they do work.
If buying the DS and the games are out of the question, here are some things you can do for free. According to the doctor who came up with Brain Age, reading out loud helps boost concentration, as does counting things as you pass them, such as light poles or trees.
When you need to remember a list of things, try making up a story using the items. To remember names, repeat the name back to the person or to someone else. It will help it stay in your memory. The act of writing down something you want to remember will also help your brain to remember it.

Memory isn't like a muscle, something specific you can exercise. It's a way of organising information in your brain. So to improve your memory, you need to change and re-organise the way you think and this will help to support how your memory works.
How to improve
There are two main approaches you can use to help your memory - external aids and internal aids. Memory champions use internal aids, these are techniques we can use in our heads to help us remember, and anyone can do it

Try going to a psychiatrist if you have ADHD, which it sounds like you might. Write down messages to yourself about what you want to remeber.
