Those are gifts from the Gideon Society.

Giving of gifts is a good thing. Say thank you.

It used to be that people would rent a hotel or motel and commit suicide. Chains allowed the Gideon Society to place Bibles in each room with a message of hope in them to deter that behavior.

no longer each motel room has a bible. those that do have Bible provided by technique of a company said as The Gideons which elements a bible to for each room the position the motel requests it. the objective is to be in a position to have in each motel room a source of help in hassle or convenience.

I would say that around 95% of hotels I stay in in Europe, Asia and Australia do not have a bible in them. I guess people are cottoning on to the fact, that not everyone believes in a Christian God or any God for that matter.

There's an organization called the Gideons. They provide them to hotels free of charge. A hotel would be free to decline it, but then a bunch of crazy fundies would start burning effigies.

Let's start a non-profit/non-prophet organization to put The God Delusion in each hotel room, eh? ;)

Gideon does it free, unlike the secular humanist movement.

Does Richard Dawkins do this, if his stuff is so important?

Gideon does it in the hope of saving one soul.

Hope you get saved before you die.
Bless you

The Gideons put them there. And who want to carry one with you. It is nice to have it there. I only take a small Psalter with me.
