Do you know if the cat is feral? If the kitten is feral, it's likely that you may never catch it. If it is, use gloves and proceed with caution. And be quick! Feral kitties are not sociable and will thrash around like little demons when you catch them.

Actually, you should use gloves either way. I usually sit by where the kitten is hiding and reach for it. Block it in and then just try to grab it. The best place to grab it is the skin on the back of the neck. This spot is where the mother would grab it to move it without the kitten becoming scared. It pinched a nerve that paralyzes it temporarily.

Even if you catch it without grabbing the neck, immediately grab it by the skin of the neck afterward. It will calm the kitten if done correctly.

Also, don't be afraid of the little hiss-spit that it does. If you can get the kitten into a corner and grab it, go for it. I've always been able to catch kittens by being patient and sitting there for about 30 minutes trying to coax it out.

If you know how to meow like a cat, do it. I have before and it works like a charm with naive kittens, kittens that are not feral or cannot see yet (if it has blue eyes, it cannot see). I don't know how young this kitten is, but sudden movements scare kittens off, so proceed slowly and as close to the ground as you can get and offer a finger to sniff if the kitten isn't feral.

The height of humans scares kittens that are not used to us. Crouch to the ground, or kneel. Do not make kissing noises or anything that sounds remotely like a hiss.

as quickly as you observed the catch you need to have all started phoning the shelters and animal administration, because of the fact that it is the place your puppy would be. Animal administration frequently retains a cat introduced in for 3 to 5 days until eventually now euthenizing, so do no longer wait. If the catch become on my sources i'd confiscate it. If this is not on my sources i ought to legally no longer, yet i'd maximum actual connect a observe to it asserting my cat would be at risk, i'd desire a telephone call from the guy making use of the catch. Get on the telephone and do your common seek to get your puppy back until eventually now she's killed as a stray.

Everyday you can bring the kitten some food like Tuna preferrably. Entice the kitten into your arms perhaps? Otherwise, you can call animal controll to get the kitten out for you that way you can make sure the kitten isnt too rough of a kitty.

I ambushed mine in the front yard during the winter by kicking snow at him and floping on top of him. It was the silliest thing I have ever done in my life and I looked ridiculous. But I have an awesome kittie and he loves me. He still doesnt like to be ambushed. We fed him and his mom and brother and caught them first, they lived in the bathroom for a week before we found them homes. Skeet was the hardest kit to catch. When I saw that little ball of white fluff with icicles hanging off of him, I had to get him. You will need an accomplice to distract him from one side while you ambush him from the other side. He'll be confused and they can go anywhere. get em by being fearless of how you look. go get that kit.

if you call the humane society in your area they can give you a trap for raccoons... you put the food in the cage and when they walk in a pressure release spring closes the door behind them. works like a charm... just check it often some ppl will just leave the animal in there to die

Simple. Put an open can of tuna near your door. When the cat comes to eat the tuna, show yourself slowly. Put your hand out for it to smell. Then slowly put your hand under it. Caught!!!
