There is no way to do that, sry. That is why it is called write protected. It means it is also erase protected.

You should try to just get another cdr. Thtat is my best suggestion.

What the **** is a write protected CD? Why do you think it's write-protected? What kind of media is that on?

You can only format a CD-RW any way.

Um, when you say 'CD', do you mean re-writable CDs?
Well, I'll assume so.
If you're using a CD file system which allows you to use a re-writable CD like a hard drive (like the InCD program), then just use the format utility which came with the program.

If you wish to re-use a re-writable CD that has data on it, then you just erase it. There's no kind of formatting required.
Most CD burning programs have a feature to erase re-writable CDs. An example is below.
