This is a serious question. I want some educated Muslims to please respond. Sura 29:27 states clearly that, as far as Allah and the Qur'an are concerned, the only true prophets are those related to Isaac (Ishaq) or Jacob (Yaqoub); yet Muhammad, according to Muslim tradition, is related to Ishmael and not Isaac or Jacob. So how is muhammad considered to be a prophet? I am not trying to offend anyone. I just need to know.

To the one answer I do have. Why does it clearly state Isaac and Jacob but does not even mention Ishmael.

It's interesting that the one answer made no sense. Is abraham the seed of Jacob and Ishmael even though Abraham came before the both of them?

It makes sense to those who ignore common sense.

And on top of all that, they will be blessed? For what? Saying that the Old Testament says that the child of promise was Isaac? So who will the Muslims curse? Moses for writing it wrong? I don't think so. But they have no 'out'. Unless they point to someone no one knows for changing it. Who would that be? They haven't a clue, do they?

And We granted him Ishaq and Yaqoub, and caused the t prophethood and the book to remain in his seed, and We gave him his reward in this world, and in the hereafter he will most surely be among the good.

Qur'an 29:27.

"His seed" was reffering to Abraham. Ishmael was the son of Abraham. So, yeah.

The verse clearly states "all from the offspring of Abraham." Mohammed (pbuh) is definitely a decendant of Abraham.

He is supposedly from the line of Ishmael. God told Hagar (Ishmael's mother) he would be a wild donkey of a man.
