But from what I have seen C could be good too.

Interesting concept. For people that don't know... I don't think this answers the question so it's alright to post.

Humanism is a broad category of ethical philosophies that affirm the dignity and worth of all people, based on the ability to determine right and wrong by appeal to universal human qualities—particularly rationalism. Humanism is a component of a variety of more specific philosophical systems, and is incorporated into several religious schools of thought. Humanism entails a commitment to the search for truth and morality through human means in support of human interests. In focusing on the capacity for self-determination, humanism rejects the validity of transcendental justifications, such as a dependence on faith, the supernatural, or divinely revealed texts. Humanists endorse universal morality based on the commonality of human nature, suggesting that solutions to human social and cultural problems cannot be parochial.

Even if HUMANISM is not regarded to as a religions, like ppl on here already stated, I see what you mean, and I think that there is no real difference between a philosophical path and a religions path, because both, religion and philosophy is a certain way to think. Maybe religion also implies a certain way to "feel". But hey, a feeling is always coupled with thoughts. However, I am very sure, that if ALL people on this planet would think the same (good) way, it could be a better world. For this, it does not matter if its HUMANISM or any other moral, religious or philosophical way. The key here is, that there will be no hate just because somebody believes in something else. An easy example. If there is only one race, lets say if there is just white people, there can not be racism. An other example: if everybody would have exactly the same wealth and possessions, there would be no envy on somebody who has more (maybe just the eager to gain more like you r neighbor). If everybody is equal in every way, some of todays problems like racism and disputes over different religions would not exists. But maybe then, some new problems would evolve. Consider this: Example: communism. the basic idea of communism was, that everybody shares everything. Well, it did not work out, right ? I think, its simply not in humans genes to accept to be equal. A human always seeks to be the one and only individual, he seeks to be different. Example: at a party, two girls wear exactly the same outfit: a disaster for them ! So my answer is simple: you would get rid of some problems, but you would create other problems. To really change the world a better place, you wo;d need to change how a human beeing "works", thus, make him a robot or something.

B. Of course b. Humanism is not centred around worshiping tyrants, it is about working to get the best from humanity. Humanist believe in people, christians believe in god.

PS christian tradition involves denying gay people rights, unlike humanism, it relies on faith over knowledge, not so with humanism. In fact humanism is in direct contradiction with christian traditions on many things.

A

But C makes no sense unless you mean "declining influence" of the Catholic Church. Is that what you mean?
