Well if your husband makes too much braces shouldn't be a problem like Christine said offer to make payments i don't know how much braces cost but if its over 1000 bucks just go in with at least 250 bucks cash make sure the receptionist can see the money ya know as you are asking to make payments. Ask but don't ask lol tell them you will make payments but make it sound like you are asking them Once they actually SEE the money they will work with you if they don't budge find another one like Senatorflexi said ask your local dental board and find one that does good work and is flexible when it comes to making payment.

Dental schools. Payments schedules. Let him live with it until he is old enough to have a job and pay for it on his own. These are some of the choices that we talk to our patients about when it comes to ortho. My son is going to need braces as well. We have insurance, good insurance, however even with insurance we will have to pay about two grand out of pocket. That being said nothing is free, medicaid provides a valuable service for needy kids and their parents. Fillings, cleanings, F2, x-rays, etc. However most kids can live and survive quite nicely without braces. I think that medicaid is doing the right thing not approving ortho work. I am happy to have my tax dollars go to people that need medicaid services such as I described above, however I would not be too happy that my tax dollars went to help those that needed braces. There has to be a line drawn somewhere. If one child is getting their braces paid for, then that means that another child who is in pain and needs fillings is not going to get the help as quickly because more and more dentists are not accepting medicaid because year after year medicaid pays less and less for dental care. Which means that a dentist can't afford to accept medicaid himself/herself because they have overhead to pay for. It is an endless cycle of aggravation. Our dental office accepts medicaid and it truely is a pain as far as the red tape is concerned. Good luck.

You should got with a dental discount plan. I have one and it's great. For everyone in my family I only pay $19.95 a month. We got my son braces which would have been $4,000. With out discount dental plan we less than half of that and the balance we pd out monthly with our dentist. The plan also covers vision, prescription and chiropractic. We have saved so much. You should definetaly check it out. The phone # is 1-800-784-1719.

Almost all dentist have their own plan to cover additional expenses. This will cost you an addtional monthly rate. If you purchase a plan from your dentist he can approve the braces.

If you dentist does not have a plan, call a dental referal office and ask for one. They will let you know which dentist have plans that will include braces and how much it will cost with they're plan or they may be able to refer you to supplement your plan to cover the cost.

Call your local dental society and tell them your problem.
That's what they're there for.
