my landlord is traveling to ohio on thje 24th to watch the execution of her son in law.. he shot her daughter in the head execution style. her and i are very close and i am just wondering what would be the proper thing to give her before she goes up there i was thinking of an i am thinking of you card but should i do more like flowers.. i dunno just need feedback thx

An "thinking of you" card is also a good idea, or something like "i'll always be there for you". I don't think flowers would do. Make a little muffin for her if you can together with the card.

I can't think of anything that you can give her. I'm serious. It is neither a celebration nor an event for consolation.

She is doing what she needs and she is the only one that do that. When she comes back be her friend and listen when she wants to talk, and eventually she will.

Perhaps a simple note saying your thoughts are with her, that you recognize this must be a painful experience and you hope she finds the closure she is seeking. No flowers. No candy. Just the note.
