shouldn't we waive the fees for all those who are applying for legal immigration??

I have foreign coworkers who are paying between $4000 and $6000 out of their pockets for lawyer fees for green cards as postdoc scientists - illegals think that $3500 is too much!!
I say we should just let all those who are seeking legal status come in for free and hike up the fees on the illegals who want to cut in line!

- Amnesty saves the millions of dollars that could go into deportation.
- It ensures everybody currently in US is able to pay taxes.
- It helps those people with work experiences here continue to work in USA legally..
- Atleast there would be a little fee less than you stated.

There is not going to be any amnesty. There may be a work permit program.
$3500 I will say it's fair enough. Do you know how much a an illegal has to pay to a "Coyote". Around 3 to 4k. So, why don't invest that money in a work permit.
The only problem that I see is that the work permit it's only for 2 years, I will suggest 4.

First of all it ain't going to happen. Those post doc scientists must not be worth much or they would have their H-1B applications moved and paid for the company they plan to work for in the U.S.

No the fees should not be waived. In the case of H-1B workers they should be doubled.

Illegals have no rights, how are they going to demand cheaper fees? next, they may not want to pay any fees because that violates their rights.
I say deport them all.
