As far as having the greatest effect on society today, changing our perspectives the most, for the better.
I know you are not going to like this answer, but after WW2 people started to realize that racism is stupid. I don't believe black people would have gotten their rights so quickly if WW2 hadn't happened. For the first time people started to realize that there is no god's chosen race. We are all people. In many countries, there is very little racism now. In America, racists are hated by almost everyone. Before the war it was the exact opposite, even the people that didn't want black people enslaved, most of them were racists. They still thought that they were better than them. Now people see, because of adolf hitler, and his mistakes.
I find it very odd myself that jesus tried to do good and harmed noone. He just traveled sharing wisdom, but in doing so caused more wars, more death than any one person, ever. Hitler on the other hand started a gruesome slaughter of civilians, started the biggest war the world had ever seen in the name of bigotry, but in doing so he caused people to see and understand the wisdom that jesus was talking about.
