Chimpanzees have a 98% positive DNA match to humans. However, this is not enough to call a human a monkey or vice versa.

No. We're very similar, but obviously not the same. Apes and humans are more similar still. But even so, a gorilla is not a chimpanzee, and humans aren't monkeys.

No. Some believe in the theory that man started out as a fish, then developed legs and crawled out of the water, then two of the legs became arms so the creature was walking on two legs. Finally, over millions of years, it ended up as a man. Except for the ones that crawled out of water and developed wings instead of arms, which became birds. I don't know where the giraffe necks and elephant trunks and rhino horns all started though... It's easier for me to believe that God organized and created the creatures of earth and put man here (already developed) to rule them. Makes more sense.

no,....... although our very earliest ancestors prosimians, had a longer tail bone than hominoidea,... (an upright walking ground dweller).... modern man didnt really begin to emerge until approx 50,000 years ago.
Originally from africa,..... they had migrated to asia, and then europe, during the late pleistocene epoch period, with homo neanerthalensis remains discovered in 1856 in germany.
They were short, stocky, strong and intelligent, using fire, stone tools and spears.
Due to the high probability of being killed or eaten,..... the very earliest of man was indeed a tree living monkey, until 3 seperate familys began to emerge, with the great apes (hominoidea) eventually becoming ground dwellers.
Yes our very earliest ancestors were indeed tree living monkeys,.... evolving from there to NEW WORLD, then OLD WORLD apes, great apes, then modern man, 50,000 years ago.

Humans are primates, yes. Chimpanzees are our closest evolutionary relative, while "monkeys" as you put it are yet another branch of the same family group. "Monkeys" evolved in one direction, higher primates evolved in another.
