I am trying out for my school's dance team.
Try outs start monday, I have expirence in dance, but I am so nervos and stressed.
I'm scared It'll show during my performance infront of the judges.
Please help me out.

Here is a exercise you might try:

Get comfortable and take a couple of deep cleansing breaths. Breath from your diaphragm and deeply, exhaling each breath completely before taking the next.

When relaxed, close your eyes and imagine the tryout. See your self doing your routine and being watched by those who will decide whether you get on the team.

Now, imagine yourself completely blowing the routine. Dancing out of time with the music, tripping, falling, etc. Imagine yourself just completely screwing it all up.

After you have done this, take 15 to 30 minutes, and record on paper all the things you are feeling and thinking. Imagine how you will feel if you blow it. Describe what you believe your life will be like if you don't make the team.

Set this aside for a while and go do anything that will take your mind away from the exercise and the upcoming tryouts. Take a walk, go for a run, clean the house, your room, etc. Make it very physical and mind focusing.

When you have a chance re-read what you have written about messing up your chance to make the team.

At this point, you decide what you are going to do to make the dance team.

It will all go well.

Have you learned some relaxation exercises to quiet your mind and body? Perhaps even a favorite poem that quiets your emotions and warms your heart -- partly so you'll think about something else. If you have a term paper coming due, that's a great way to take your mind off of dancing.

Just chill out and relax. do what you enjoy most, apart from dancing, but if that makes you relaxed go ahead. but try i nice warm, long bubble bath or pig out on your favourite chocolates while wacthing your fave movie. that always helps me.
