You'll need to work to make money, however, you can make money from your home on the Internet. That may be a good idea since you have kids and all.
You can use the computer you're using right now to earn a living from home. You can own and run your own website or write and publish ebooks or even freelancing online. The list really goes on and on. There is so much you can do.
Like the smart guy said, invest in ASSETS... things that make you money ie. own business (offline or online) , real estate, educational materials, books, cds etc.and don't waste your money on liabilities and a bunch of junk.
To get some good ideas and tools to use from home go to http://www.extraincomefinder.com
Good luck!

Become an Arbonne rep. There is a low start up cost of $29.00. no contracts no product stocking, no sales requirments, The $29.00 is for materials they send you to get your business started. They have a great compensation plan.
Wheather you sell or not you get a discount off the products.
This is great because you set your own hours and have no commitments so its great. have parties with friends and family and just have fun.
I have checked out others companies and they are not specific on prices or what it costs to start up or stocking their products and sales requirements. You can do this all with out having to have someone from their team calling you and pushing you into selling or stocking. since you are in school you have many people to intrduce this too and start making money

Can you give us a little more background - if you're unemployed, shed all of your borrowed assets to minimize cash flow (e.g. if you own a car and still owe $$ on it, sell it, and buy something older / smaller for cash).
Cash flow is the biggest problem for unemployed.
Cut down on ALL spending now - even if you have a slush fund - because you don't know how long you will need it for.
If you live in a high cost area of the country, consider moving to a lower cost area - the coasts are very expensive, and wages don't necessarily match the cost of living there - seriously, the midwest, like Nebraska, Kansas has a good cost of living, and are much nicer than you might think.

Extra money, well the other day I was on Craigslist.ORG, not .com.
I got 2 bikes and a lawnmower for free. I went and picked up.
The lawnmower did actually start, I sold it for $55.
The 2 bikes I asked $40 and sold for 30.
Look in the free section, maybe look at the wanted section.
Get something free then sell it to someone who wants.

Hmmmmm truthfully ... even if the bike is worth less than what you are paying for, just sell it and use that large sum of money and divide it up into 3-4 months worth of payments. That way your extra monthly income from your job can be put towards your credit card debt. (don't fall behind on payments unless you want a 20% interest rate on your credit card debt) For your truck, if you don't have to drive to work, uninsure it for a couple months. That way you will have more money to put towards food, debt, your truck payment, ect. I'm pretty sure even if you have a two year contract for interent and phone, you can still drop the provider. Might have to pay an exit fee but if you're feeling dangerous you can just not pay them. Pretty sure your service provider won't come after you if the fee is small enough and you decided not to pay. If you do everything I just said you would have roughly $400 extra a month for food and clothes. Also if the guy is rich enough, you might as well be his sugar baby because your debt will take awhile to get rid of from my perspective.
