you can love anybody but it takes the ONE person to be IN LOVE with; that one person who gives you that "high" - you can't explain it but the feeling you get from them is special and the person ONLY gives you that feeling alone

When you just love someone you see them as a friend, and you care about what happens to them. But being in love, is to be with someone you trust, you commite to, you are into, etc.

well you can have love for someone... let's see, well i will use an example.. you can still have Love for the people of your last relationships.. because once you devote a piece of your heart to them they Always have SOME of that love in your heart for them still. that portion of your heart can of course shrink, but i believe that once you have Truly loved someone then you will always love them and have that love for them. because that's the reason you fell in love with them in the first place.. because of the person they are. and you cared about them, and that's not going to change when you break up, for the Most part at least, that is. to BE IN love with someone means that you love them and have given your heart to them Right Now for the time being, and you love everything about them. you wouldn't change a hair on their head.. because in your eyes they are perfect to you because they are all that you see.. it is more like lust. you want to spend every moment with them and you think about them and when you make decisions you think about what they would choose and things like that is when you love them. you make them a part of your life because you love them so much that you value them and love them as a person. you are more in love with the idea of them though when you say you are "in" love with them. true LOVE is much better because you love them no matter what and forever. and you love everything about Them as a Whole Person inside and out. hope that made sense :)

You can love your mom but you can't be "in love" with her. We use "in love" for the person that we love and we have strong feelings for them physically, mentally and spiritually.

The "be in" is lust. The love someone comes after the lust dies.
