i have a friend and she alway drunk when something bad happen to her .

It is an escape. You stop thinking about whatever is bothering you while you are drunk. Sometimes, if whatever happened isn't that bad, having a few drinks lets you unwind and you feel better after it is done. Or sometimes you feel worse. But generally it is to get away from whatever is bothering you.

im 16 and my mom is an alcoholic. she's been this way ever since my dad and her split up. Even though i'm only 16, i think she does this to cope with it, like when shes drinking it makes her think about other things, and she has that time to neglect what's really going on. My mom gets drunk every night, and when she is, she's happy. Everyone tells me that it's a way to release and let go, like everything is surreal when she's drunk. But the best advice i can give you about this is that it's a way of your friend to help them deal with problems that are going on so that they don't have to think about them while they are occupied with alcohol.

Because alcohol changes your mind state and makes you forget your problems or just not care about them. It kinda turns you into a different person for a couple of hours.

Alcohol mellows people out and it takes your mind off the things that bother you. The problem is, when you sober up, the problems are still wating for you.
