I did this once I was so mad! I have dark brown hair and over time I highlighted it more and more so it had alot of blond in it anyways I got sick of highlighting it and wanted to go back to my natural color. I dyed my hair "medium brown" but it came out so black it looked like shoe polish I looked like a witch, and it also was a huge shock because I gradually highlighted my hair lighter and lighter but when I dyed it my hair went from lighter brown with lots of blond high lights to jet black!! Anyways I freaked out and decided that I needed to dye it again to a lighter color ASAP, but my mom told me not to keep messing with hair colors because it damages your hair and I will just end up with a weird color if I keep dying it. She also told me that all hair coloring fades and to just wait a couple weeks and it will lighten up. So after about a week it was lighter but after about 2 or 3 wks my hair was fine and the color I wanted it to be so I was very pleased. You might want to wait a few weeks and if you still hate it go to your hairdresser and ask what she recommends

Give it about 7-10 days to lighten a bit. Hair color usually fades just a bit after few days.

If your hair is still too dark, go back to the salon and ask to have the color lightened or lifted a shade or two.

Getting a few highlights would be easiest on your hair though.

They can strip the color out of your hair but it can be damaging (especially if you were previously a bottle blonde). Another option would be to get highlights to give your hair a lighter look without causing quite as much damage. Your best bet would be to wait a month or two for the color to naturally fade and then go in to have it fixed.

just try waching it alot for a while (a week or so) with a definatly not colour sensitive shampoo. I always dye my hair a bit darker than I want so it fades to the right colour. And don't feel bad about not telling the people right away. It's really hard to know what it looks like in the salon (mine has burgundy walls so all hair looks purplish)

I will tell you that if you don't want to go to the salon, get some dawn dishsoap and wash your hair a couple times with it and it will fade the color alot.
Just make sure to condition good after the final wash.

Tell them you want your hair lightened to a ash brown color. They should let you choose what color you want

First of all you shouldnt have left the salon dissatisfied so you wouldnt have to pay to get it redone. But go back and possibly show them the color you want and tell them thats the color you wanted.

well i think you can actually remove colouring esp if its done in a salon. or just wait a while until it washes off a bit, then it will become a bit ligher or just recolour it i guess...or tell the salon your situation. if your hair isn't easily damaged then you can bleach it light then colour it again. from what i've read, find a shade that looks 3 shades lighter than the colour that you want

I did the same thing before, wash you hair with Tide w/ bleach laundry detergent it will pull some of the color out, right after that wash it with your regular shampoo and make sure you condition it well, it won't lighten a whole lot but it will enough for you to see results. Good Luck! It worked for me.

Hum...Its no longer convenient going from mild blonde to darkish blonde. Most field colour from unprofessional retail outlets won't inform you the bottom colour or attribute of the colour. Like mild golden brown. The base colour of that is gold. You purchased an ash or crimson base. Go for your regional salon to get it constant and sure semi-everlasting will paintings however watch out of the bottom colours in it. Buy whatever with pink tone in it.
