It was about what people thought satanism is.

Answers made me realize....Why do people answer when they don't really know what they are talking about.

EX: Human/Animal sacrafices.
Nothing to do with satanism.

I think that there are two forms. Those that really knowingly worship Satan. Those who say it is not Satan that they worship, but some other theory. I admit, I haven't studied it much, so I can not recall what the second group exactly claims.

I don't know but there was a group of people not far from where I live that practiced some form of Satanism and they did sacrifice animals. Not any humans that I know of, just animals, especially cats.

I think of Satanism as being the worship of ego. The opposite of humility.

Also, I find hollywood's take on Satanism hilarious. It's just awesome.

And Anton Levay is such a loser.

satanism as I understand it is worshipping Satan. it's believing that there are two forces in the universe - the good and the evil - and choosing to worship the evil instead of the good. why anyone would choose to do that is beyond me - unless it's out of some kind of misplaced adolescent rebellion.

maybe I'm wrong - maybe satanism is believing that there is only one force in the universe, and it's evil. if you believe that, I suppose it makes logical sense to worship the only force that exists.

but really. whatever supernatural pixie in the sky, or under the earth, you may choose to worship and/or believe in - you're deluding yourself.

But the problem with satanism is all most people know is what they have seen in the movies (blood rituals, black masses, human sacrifies, sex in the moonlight) so what Satanism really is gets rather murky

gee I don't really want to know a lot about satan. What I know is enough. He is evil, the destructor, darkness, prince of lies, and one day the angels will lock him up in a pit. In the Old Testament idol worshippers sacrificed their own children to the idol. All idols are false and are ultimately satan.

I thought Satanism is the belief of the fallen angel, Satan.

They used to sacrifice animals in the bible, so it can't be completely satanic. Mostly just tools looking to feel cool.
