The fact that U.S.A. and Israel keep doing stupid things thinking that they can rule the world by bullying everyone, does not mean that they have "the right" to do so and it certainly does not give the "right" to anyone else to imitate their stupid actions...Have you ever considered that the Kurdish kill innocent people, doing them selves stupid and horrible things, because they try to win their independence, because they have different nationality and they want a country of their own?

If USA have the right to go and invade a country which is 10 000 km far, saying that Iraq is a danger... So why shouldn't Turkish army have the right only to defend his territory just crossing the border ? ...

Of course, WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO IT IF NECESSARY...

Before asking a question you should know the coutry's self truths beside the global truths. Yes military meddles in politics cause there are three coups in Turkish history made in every decade lasted 1980 . And an another half coup in ninetees. Whenever Turkey steps forward , there emerges some circles do not want coutry's peace. "Peace at home , peace in the world" this is our motto. We as Turks never wanted to fight against Kurds but PKK.. I think you are not aware of it which EU and America called it as a terrorist organization. Let me advise you a web site that you can easily learn the truth and follow day by day . www.todayszaman.com Stay with peace...

The Turkish Army is the guardian of the legacy of Ataturk and therefore of the Constitution.

It is only because of the Army that Turkey is the sole Muslim country that honors secularism and modern notions of liberty.

Every other Muslim country in the world, to one degree or another, subscribes to the medieval notions of primitive religious extremists and/or is a dictatorship. Turkey is a modern state whose citizens should be proud of their development.

Turkey is justly concerned with Kurdish separatist elements. One hopes that a peaceful, diplomatic solution can be reached with the current Kurdish groups governing Northern Iraq.

IF YOUR COUNTRY IS TRIED TO BE CONTROLLED and DIVIDED INTO PARTS AND PARTS by major players of the world, YOU WOULD ALSO BE HAPPY TO HEAR HIS VOICE.
He did not say Invading Northern Iraq. Wrong translation. Making an operation which means go, do your job and come back. As it was done many times during Saddam's time. It is stated in United Nations Aggrement Item 51. We have right to do that. We have lost 30000 people (civillian and noncivillian) in that area. Those terrorist are very well protected in northern Iraq. They pass the border at night attack villages, attack gendarmerie stations, put some land mines and have a safe sleep in the morning in northern Iraq. Who can tell me that it is FAIR? I Listened to that speech from the first to last minute. He told many things like "EU IS FUNDING SOME RESEARCHS WHICH ARE FOR INVESTIGATING ETHNIC ORIGINS OF TURKISH CITIZENS." So if somehow Kurdish Game is over, they are in preparation of a new game for us. When someone ordinary says same things it is usually named as Conspiracy Theories by ignorant people. Thanks God he named all the risks threatining our state.
Turkey will never be Yugoslavia, will never be Iraq, so our Generals will keep talking, we are happy to hear them, we are proud to hear them. They will keep talking until there is no threats.
I have no criticism personaly on your question. But please try to think like a citizen of a country which almost all of his neighbours has different maps of your country. I can understand your shock. I had the same shock when I was watching Abu Ghraib commision meeting live on CNN. Commisioner asks to General Myers what he did after being informed about the case and General Myers told "I told it to my boss". I said what kind of a world is that General is under the control of Defence Minister and calls him Boss in front of public.

we will not invade northern Iraq there are plans to be cleansing of Kurdish terorist organisation PKK as they have killed our soldiers and innocent people over the years (they are very cold blooded terorist group with a lot of weopon and suicide bombers etc.)

yes Turkish Army is also the protector of Laic system (secular one may say), but we as Turks (Ataturks nation) are the real protectors(cos Turkish Army is made out of ordinary people)...

Its not that cos he is Kemalist, (as there is been presidents they were not Kemalist in the past) but we don't fully trust him cos he islamist...but I personally do not worry as no one can change the law about that Turkiye is secular...
