well i love most raviolis [except the ones that taste like lasagna]. when i told my mom this she said i was wierd because there both made from the same stuff...what makes them different, probably the sauce, but what is the thing in lasagna that makes me hate it that is not present in ravioli?

there is 5 + cheeses in lasagna...ravioli is just meat sauce folded into a ravioli.
So I'm guessing your issue could be the cheeses or you just simply don't like the sauce.

They're not really all that similar. Raviolis are pasta, and a filling. Any filling that you like. Most are hamburger, or sausage. You can also get them with cheese. This allows for a lot of variation. Lasagna on the other hand is pretty straight forward. Lasagna noodles, hamburger/sausage, ricotta cheese, mozzarella, parmisan. Obviously they can both be toyed with ingredient-wise, but we're talking about standards here. I'd say that you are being put off by one of the cheeses in the lasagna, or the difference in consistency from one dish to the other.

It might be the cheese. Some ravioli is stuffed with cheese, but I think most of the time it's a meat mixture. Lasagna on the other hand has lots and lots of cheese.

Might be some subtle difference in seasoning too.

I am the exact same way! For some reason, the combination of ricotta cheese, meat sauce, etc. just grosses me out. But I love both cheese and meat ravioli. I think it's the ricotta.

lasagna has cottage cheese in it. i don't know for sure any of the other differences. when i make lasagna i use, noodles, three cheese spaghetti sauce, cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, and hamburger. i do not think the two taste the same at all if it makes you feel any better.
