Put him on a weight loss formula dog food.

Or make sure you are not over feeding him...you have to take into account all the treats, table scraps (if any) and dog food he gets in a day.

Read the ingredient label on your dog's food and consult your veterinarian before making any drastic changes in diet. Up the exercise. Cut back on the treats. No table scraps.

The dog is still a puppy so I advice speaking with your vets office before you do anything. If you malnurish your dog now by making it lose weight, you can seriously mess up its growth and shorten its life expectancy. TALK TO YOUR VET FIRST!

If he/she is still eating puppy food, now is the time to stop feeding it that. Puppy food has a higher fat content than adult food. Make sure he is walked regularly, and follow the suggested instructions on portions listed on the bag of food.

There's diet dog food. Stop giving him unhealthy treats or table scraps. Take him for walks.

Take him to a dogpark where he can run around off the leash for about an hour each day.

Give him food he doesn't like so much. He'll eat less and still be satisfied.

they make dog food for overweight dogs, but if its still a puppy then leave it alone because making it lose weight at such a young age can be bad for its health..or you can just talk to a vet..
hope this helps

Exercise and diet...just like a person!!! Don't overfeed and take your dog out for runs and walks and play with him/her a lot.
