If you try the whitening remedies such as peroxide and toothpaste and they dont work. Just take a file, lay flat on your nail and rub it easy until the spot is gone. This will take it off, because it is filing away the top layer of the nail. But it wont hurt tthe nail or its growth as long as you dont do rub it hard.

The best cure is prevention. Keeping polish on your nails for a long time can be bad for them as the polish prevents air from reaching the nail beds. This can cause fungus to grow and yellow the nails. The yellowing can also be caused by wearing dark polish that stains. You already have gotten lots of hints on how to fix that problem.

I suggest that you give your nails time between being polished to get essential air and to not get any icky fungus. You might get a nail fungus treatment just in case that's what the discoloration is, you'll find it in the part of the stores where foot powders are.

I agree, you should always use a base coat! That 's the best way to prevent yellowing in the first place.

There's a product I purchased in a beauty supplies shop which was a cuticle remover that also removed nail stains and yellowing.
I can't remember the brand, but it was moisture rich and very mild. I'm sure your local pharmacy or beauty shop will know the product.

Hope this helps!

it's natural to have a yellowish nails specially when u use nail polish... that thing somewhat deprive ur nails from breathing.. i don't know the other term for that. ur nails won't able to breathe, therefore making it yellowish.... try to have a break for nail polish..

i have a trick to that.. i won't use nail polish for 2 weeks... then after that, i'll paint my nails again.. then rest for 2 weeks again...and the cycle goes on :)

You can soak your nails in 3% volume hydrogen peroxide.
(soak for 5 minute a soulution of the peroxide/warm water/soap.

You can scrub your nails with the tootpaste for denture wearers

also, you might pick up a base coat to prevent yellowing of the nails, I think it is called yellow-out.

Try the hydrogen peroxide or denture cleaning tablets first. Another option is to apply tooth whitening strips to your nails for a few minutes and rinse.

Well take a lime and rubb it on your nails for 5mins, then wait and lets it sit for 30 secs and that should do the trick.

Two things: denture cleaner and whitening toothpaste. Use any brand of effervescent denture cleaner and soak your fingertips in it for as long as you need. Then, brush them with a soft toothbrush and any whitening toothpaste. You may need to repeat this two or three times. Good luck!
