It is a common reaction for adults and children.
If children 3 to 12 years of age experience any of the following serious side effects, contact your doctor immediately:
emotional lability (anxiety, behavior problems, crying, false sense of well-being, mental depression, reacting too quickly, too emotionally, or overreacting, rapidly changing moods); hostility (aggressive behavior, suspiciousness, or distrust); restlessness, hyperactivity or increase in body movements; amnesia (loss of memory); or thought disorders (concentration problems and change in school performance).
Remember, keep this and all other medicines out of the reach of children, never share your medicines with others, and use this medication only for the indication prescribed.

Not Necessarily! I am 5'6"/123 lbs & have always been slender. When I was on neurontin (at age 36) I put on nearly 30 pounds. Once the medication was stopped, the weight gain did go rather quickly.

I know that the weight gain problem is worse in children, but it can affect children and adults, and it is a common side effect of the medication.

I never heard of weight gain as a symptom from taking neurotin. One possibility is that it makes you groggy and thus you don't do as much aerobic activity.
