I served in the Corps.(USMC) I have no agenda for answering this. I'm an Independent but find myself answering from the Liberal side of allot of asinine questions.(not this one)
The fact is something has got to be done, I'm not opposed to a draft. We just can't continue the rotation of troops we are on...don't forget a huge number actively serving in Iraq are Reservist and National Guard.
I am for a draft from one standpoint only. Presently we are grinding our Military down, you can't continually redeploy the same units over and over. It will simply break the Military.

CNN never defined breaking point. Historically a breaking point is when one side sees complete defeat and tries to flee. The U.S. military members are trained to handle much worse conditions than they are facing now. The U.S. military equipment might be breaking and the cost of quick replacement might be too high for the politicans to stomach, but I wonder what the politicans would have done if the Cold War would have been a hot war.
The idea of puting a soldier in, taking him out and putting him back in is only a NATO concept. Other counties just put the soldiers until they die or get wounded.

Yes. But don't freak; any pacifist, gay, a farmer, or really anyone who is smart enough for college or dumb enough to fail the entrance test is safe.
