Hummus is a paste/dip made with garbanzo beans, which are also called chickpeas. Sometimes it is flavored with garlic, cumin, etc.
Couscous is a teeny tiny pasta, almost like what you'd get if you chopped up rice really small. It's made of wheat, mixed into a dough, and rolled into little balls, and it's kind of fluffy when you cook it.

Hummus is a dip made of ground chickpeas, tahini (sesame seed paste), lemon juice and garlic (some people use black olives, as well). Usually you will use pita bread to scoop the dip. It is really, really good, but very fattening.
