This question has been asked before, but it didn't have answers i liked.
If God is forgiving, why does he not forgive people after they go to hell?
I don't believe in God, i used to, but i don't anymore. Say i die tommarow and go to hell, i will obviously realise wow there is a God. I was wrong, forgive me God can i come to heaven? As i have been told, No, i would not be allowed to go to heaven. Does God really punish people for being uncertin on earth, and allow them no second chance, to be fair he has no real physical evidence supporting him. Someone could be the nicest most moral person in the world, not believe in God, and burn in hell forever, while a Christian could cheat on their partner, ask for forgiveness and go to heaven.
Any reasonable God would allow a moral person, even if he didn't believe in him, to go to heaven. Saying "You can't go to heaven because you didn't believe in me even though you made positive impacts on thousands of lifes." is pretty damn selfish.

Ok well in that case, even if i did believe in God, i wouldn't want to. A christian who sins all the time and asks for forgiveness, should NOT go to heaven, while a moral, kind, unbelieve goes to hell for all of eternity with no chance of forgiveness.
That is a sad sad God.

QUOTE
If you never get saved, you will live eternally in hell with no possibility of living in Paradise.
No one can go to Heaven, no matter how good of a person they are, if they are not saved...
God is not selfish, this is HIS Word.
Its up to you what road you take, good or evil. You cant blame God if he rejects you if you never asked Him to save your soul and ask Him to come in to your heart and be your personal saviour... Its your choice and your future after death.
END QUOTE
"God is not selfish its HIS word" -Do i even need to say anything about that, it's an oxymoron in itself.
"Its up to you what road you take, good or evil. " -So i for example, i turned in a lost wallet today, but yet since im unchristian i am evil?
Come on guys, see how absurd these things are, don't make excuses because it is uncomfortable, THINK!

Your body is physical evidence. It is extremely complex and functions pretty well. It's much better than this computer and no one would say that this computer evolved. Many historians, like Josephus, corroborate what the New Testament records of history, including Jesus' life and death, although not necessarily His resurrection. You should read authors like Josh McDowell and Lee Strobel for more physical evidences. They answer various questions from various fields and have a Christian worldview. Dr. Kent Hovind has a good seminar on the creation and flood theory and how it lines up with science. There are other scientists out there who believe in creation that you can find if you look.
A nice moral person would not have a problem loving a Man who bled and died for them and serving a Man who is perfect. You're also categorizing sins. In one sense, God doesn't do that. Romans 3:22b-23 "For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." There is no such thing as a moral person in God's eyes, except for Jesus Christ.
Sometimes He does give second chances. I know one lady who went to hell for a few minutes and was resuscitated. She became a Christian not long after that. You also commit a very common sin, especially among Americans, because you assume that God is here to do your will. No. God is your creator and He created you to do His will. God sent His Son of His own free will. He did not have to do that and He owes you absolutely nothing. Would you forgive someone who murdered your only son? He's pretty selfless to let anyone into heaven. The Bible also says that no one is really uncertain. They suppress the truth. See Romans 1:18-32

Jesus had the power to tell the criminals hanging on crosses to his left and right that they were forgiven and that he would be with them in Heaven.
If I had that power, I'd impart it to as many people as I could. If your heart is contrite, you'd be first.
I don't have that power, but I do have the power to be Christ-like. I have no intention of judging anyone if He forgave prostitutes, criminals and the like.
The older I get and the more I learn, the more I believe we know almost nothing about God. But, sometimes, I just feel the presence. And I know that that forgiveness is in everything about Him. Like the air we breath.
Job's "friends" lambasted him with judgment and asked what sin he'd committed to be stricken with such calamity. His answer?
Look out at the fields. Does the rain not fall equally on those of the righteous and evildoers? Does the sun shine only on the fields of the faithful?
I was pressured by some in my church to denounce the idea of evolution. I thought: If it's absolutely proven, then what? Do I stop believing? So, I launched head on into a study of it. And all it did is make my faith stronger. God must be a lot bigger than I was told. That's all I can say.
I'm not judging.

This question is a question that will surely give unsure answers.
I have researched on this and I had no relevant answers. What I remember is that God is the source of forgiveness and we should forgive. In the Lord's Prayer, a part of it goes "...forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us...". So what I think is that we should forgive to be forgiven. But I think, even if you didn't believe in Him, as long as you were good, he will forgive you.
By the way, you can't even tell if there is Heaven if they can't tell there is a God. Yes, I am a Christian and I am proud of it so I still believe there is a heaven and hell. But don't you think that there might be a heaven for all people that are good? No more division between religions but just get the good ones. So that may mean that only the good ones, regardless of their religions, can enter. But that is just my idea. So see, no sure answers.

OK, it is not just about forgiveness. It is asking for forgivness and repentance. Paul implores, in the book of Ephesians, to repent and turn away from sin. Is it wrong for someone to continully sin and ask forgiveness? Yes, but that also means that they have an addiction and need help and support to turn away from sin. If someone is using forgiveness as a crutch to excuse their actions, they are not honoring God and His word. I also believe that if a serial killer repents and asks for forgiveness, turns away from their sin, they will spend eternity with God.
You mentioned that you used to believe in God, but do not anymore. I believe that if you do not accept Christ into your heart and turn away from sin, you will spend eternity in hell. You seem as though you know what the truth is, but want the best of both worlds-you can correct me if I'm wrong. The first commandment clearly states that we are to have no other gods-I define that as anything that seperates me from God. It could be immorality, hate, lying, job, family, etc. God is a jealous God-His definition, never did he state He was reasonable.
So, let's look at it from this prospective. If you loved someone unconditionally and died for them, would you want them to be wishy washy when it came to loving you back? Would you want them to only honor you when it came to being saved from a fire pit, car accident, death, sickness, etc? Unfortunalty, we as humans only sometimes honor someone when it is too late.
I'm not sure where you get the idea that there is no physical evidence of God. There is evidence that Jesus walked the earth, healed the sick, preached the gospel, etc. Jesus fullfilled over 500 prophesies that He would be born of a virgin, die on a tree, and rise from the grave three days later. He actually existed and He actually did those things.

I totally disagree with what others have told you. Let me try to explain as well as possible my understanding and beliefs, I'll try to be simple as possible.
Beliving in God and His forgiveness is called Faith. As I understand it we may earn rewards in Heaven through our good works on earth. Forgiveness is available for all, sinners of every sort, even non-believers.
Jesus took the keys of death the three days He walked Hell. This offered the same forgiveness for those already past, it also changed the course of things as well. Let me explain, no one just goes to Hell when they die, no matter the sin. As it is explained in the Bible, Heaven is wherever the Lord is present, now knowing this, it is also explained that because of the sacrafice of Jesus that we have a second chance of redemption from our sins. Written in the Bible it says that to be absent from the flesh , is to be present with the Father (in Heaven). For all belong to Him. So, if you were a sinner that never came to an understanding with the Lord while on earth you go on the opposite side of the gulf in Heaven that separates those from Paradise( those who earned thier redemption go to Paradise in Heaven.) There those wait until the Day of the Lord's coming. Now this is the good part. On this day all will be revealed and the Lord's Word taught. For all those who couldn't understand or who never knew God. And then you have free will, just as on earth, to obey God's law or not. This will also be Judgement Day and all will be brought before God and given his reward or punishment. This doesn't necessarily mean Hell. Now some might say, well that's not fair for those who did obey God while in the flesh, but they forget that those works will be rewarded. And the whole reason for forgiveness in the first place was to save His children whom He loves very much. He doesn't want any of us to perish. That's why He sacrificed Jesus. People just confuse Hell with the gulf that I explained of. You can only go to Hell after Judgement Day. Also, people think that if you commit suicide there is no forgiveness, well that is wrong. Every one gets a chance at redemption on the Day of the Lord's coming. The only unpardonable sin that can be commited while in the flesh is not allowing the Lord's spirit to speak through you when you are brought before the antichrist. I have alot more that I can say but I think I'll leave it for you to think about.

honestly the answers you get on this are completely dependent on a persons religion or faith.
For ex: I'm Christian, but I don't believe in the literal hell with flames and torture etc... I believe hell is on earth. That we are all in hell, and the only way for us to get out of hell is to basically work our way out, learning what we are here to learn. When we die, if we did not accomplish what we were to accomplish, than we come back and try it again. With each incarnation we learn a little more, by the time we have cycled through our lives we will then and only then be allowed into heaven.
It doesn't matter if you are atheist or not, if you are a good person and leads a good life then thats all that matters.

Well, you may not get the answers you like from me as well. Yes, according to the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, there will be quite a bit of repenting. However, the parable is clear, there will be NO crossing over. Join Islam if you want that kind of loophole.
However, God is holding back the "last day" so that people like you can do some deep searching and find your way. As was stated by Peter...
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that ANY should perish but that ALL should come to repentance.
Now, in regard to "moral people" being give a free pass. You better get your facts straight. You cannot buy your way into heaven with good morals. THAT is why Jesus had to come and die in our place.
Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.
2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
God is allowing you a second chance by reading what I have to say here. If you want proof that God exists, then read my blog link below. I have more proof, but that will get you started. If you choose to ignore your second chance. Your destiny will be of your own free will and not foisted upon you.
The facts are, once you enter into the eternal, there is no repentance. It is a done deal.

That's exactly the problem!!! he is too strict!! and yet people flock to him
change gods, there's abunch you know
If you were to believe in the Norse gods what you did wouldn't matter--how you died decided where you went
if you were an evil person and stole from everyone, then stowed away on a boat that sunk you would end up in some kind of sea-world (hope you like fish) as would some heroic guy who always gave, he was hired as a sailor and died in a mighty storm!...same fate :)
I'm just using the Norse for example because their pretty much all i know--plus their my favorites :D
ooooo!!!!!! another point!!!! olden times meant old gods, and it eventually changed to one god with time, who's to say in the next 200 years the main religion won't shift again?!?!
so yea, just browse a religion until its ideals fit your own...its what a god should be
and what really stumps me is that so many people believe in a god that causes the pain of millions---are those really the qualities your trying to emulate?
