Why is it that when someone asks you for help you are no where to be found but when they don't want to pray for them or preach at them you are more then ready?

Christians have the same problem with other Christians. Sometimes you really have to slap someone in the face to get their attention.
I don't think it has anything to do with being Christian but probably more to do with being a human.

You are making a broad generalization here.
I try to be there for people if they need me.
I generally ASK people if it's okay with them if I pray for them. And I just try to be a good example and not do a lot of preaching.
So you see, not everyone is the same and not everyone who is a Christian is as you portray them.
And not everyone who claims to be a Christian is really living a Christian life.

Life happens and if you are a Christian then you know that you need to pray and to be sensitive to the Spirit and feel when people need you. Personally, I am learning to be so bold...I admire that and maybe you are asking for the wrong thing...God gives you what you need and sometimes what you want...I stay satisfied with that...that's how my mother treated me and I am alive and self-sufficient...
What do you need help with, maybe I can help

I was homeless for over 3 years. I never saw an atheist soup kitchen or homeless shelter.

Well, just because your that way, does not mean everyone is. I have helped anyone who asks if I can. So, you have your facts wrong thinking everyone is like yourself. I have known Alcoholics like that, they think because they drink everyone does.
