Hey, get whatever you want! Just make sure it's something you're cool with having on you for the rest of your life, and you're good. Personally, if you're going to get the eyes, I wouldn't get the words with it, but I'm not partial to very many script tattoos. But like I said, it's your body. Decorate it however you like!

If you're going to get it..get it somewhere else where less people will see it..i agree with some of the other women and am personally against the "tramp stamp." But that's really all up to you in the end. As for the butterfly and heart ideas, those are REALLY played out..everyone and their mothes has them because they're so cliche.

My boyfriend has eyes but they're on the lower portion of his stomach, right above his hips. Although they're not regular eyes, they're from a band called Tool..and unless you really look at them they don't look like eyes.

It's not necessarily a "dumb" idea..but you should probably think it through a little more, don't run out and get a tattoo because you just turned 18, you know??..

Just give it a few months and if after that you're certain than do it. Just don't rush.

Hope i was helpful =D

It's your body, your tattoo, and therefore completely your decision what to get. Generally I think tattoos that are unique and relevant to the person getting them are more interesting than generic designs, but at the end of the day only you can choose what you want to get.

As far as 'Green Eyez' goes, I like the idea of something so related to you and don't think that's 'dumb' at all; the only thing I'd point out is that there may come a day when spelling the word 'eyes' with a 'z' doesn't appeal to you as much as it does now. (God, I can't believe I just said that. I'm ooooold! I'm turning into my mother! Aaaarrrgghhhh!) Seriously, though, I think an image of green eyes would make a fantastic and unique tattoo, that will always relate to you and this time in your life; whereas if you have the writing as well I wonder whether in ten, twenty, thirty years you might feel differently. I'd like to clarify, though, that I'm not saying 'eeewww, don't get tattooed, you'll regret it, it's gross', as so many people do. I have several tattoos, and plan on having more; I don't regret any of them. But a tattoo is a commitment, and it's important to get it right and come up with something you'll always enjoy having on your body.

The main thing I'd say is, take your time choosing. It sounds like you're still chewing over different ideas and that's good; it's by thinking a tattoo through that you get something you'll be happy with. This is a decision that only you can make, and you'll know when you've decided on something; it'll just feel right.

Have fun choosing your design, and getting tattooed - and best wishes in advance for turning 18!

Hi!

Congratulations on almost turning 18 :-)

It's great that you want something unique - your tag name sounds great; but just remember to look at different lettering styles - as something young and funky might not fit well with your body when you grow older. Get a sketchbook and try lots of different ideas - that's how I came up with my tattoo. Most talented tattoo artists will also help you with ideas and to draw one up that they will be able to put on your body.

Make sure you find a *good* tattooist to do it. Usually, any tattoo place worth it's salt will have a website. Funnily enough, I live in Birmingham (UK) which has lots of tattoo parlours.... and only 3 of them have websites! Go to a place where you need an appointment; not a walk-in-off-the-street job - that way you'll know you are getting it done by a professional. It might cost a little more, but it will look better and they will take your tattoo more seriously. Don't just get it done somewhere your friends have been - do your own research.

As for placement; people have mixed views on the lower back. My boyfriend finds it quite sexy; I'm somewhere in the middle... I think it looks sexy on some people and trashy on others. Really, all that matters is what you think of it. The good thing about getting it done on your back is that if you get pregnant when you're older it shouldn't stretch it as much as if you had it on your stomach.

Something that's a little twist on the lower back idea is to have 'green eyes' (personally, I'd go with the 's' rather than the 'z', but that's your choice) written at the bottom of your back, with eyes on top. You could have small butterflies fluttering from your eyelashes up your spine; rather than just keeping it on your lower back.

Take some time over it and eventually you'll know what feels right in terms of where to put it and what exactly to have. Don't rush it - you'll be 18 for a whole year, so you don't need to get it done on your birthday if you haven't decided yet.

Try these websites to look at other people's tattoos and what other people think of them:

Ultimately do what makes you happy and think about it very carefully.

Good luck! Let us know what you get in the end if you decide to have one :-)

xx Emmie

Well, remember that a tatoo is for the rest of your life, so be careful selecting one, I agree with your concept of "green eyez", if you want something unique. I remember a friend who got a tatoo of a "tiny toon" when he was 15, now he's an adult and I guess it looks silly, so try to get something that wouldn't look bad some years later. Good luck.

I have a tattoo of a eye on my lower back, it's green with lightning going through it. Had it done for 17th (I'm now 26) and I still love it. Hurt a bit but i have no pain threshold. It's never held me back career wise and definitely never scared any small children! Good luck and Happy Bday

as long as its just one it should be ok, its only really trampy when you get too many.

Eyes isnt crazy, its just freaky, how'du explain that to the father inlaw as you lean over to pick up your kids...know what I mean? may seem cool now, but when you want that city job, to pay the morgage, just make sure your back stays covered, even when your in the door, the promotions may fall by the wayside to other people if you freak out your boss and collegues! Ditto goes for scaring small children if you become a teacher, and please dont assume you'll be working a different job- unless you are already, as despit a degree or two in the area you want to work in, its often the case that the jobs dont go to the best people and you end up somewhere else you never imagined.

This a question only you can decide! If you want a tattoo, get one, if you think you will hate it later on don't get one!! Also a good idea is to go to a tatoo store and ask if you can look at some of the designs and you can ask them about getting a tattoo!!

you do what you wanna do.But the eyes will probably look good that's what i wanted at first. And people can say whatever about a tramp stamp because you know that you are not a tramp and a tattoo in that spot don't mean nothing.I have a tattoo there and i ain't no tramp.

If you've really got to grips with the fact that the tattoo is for life then go for what you want.
I know I'm going to get a shed load of thumbs down for this but the lower back tattoos are, for me, just a little bit tacky.
But its all down to personal choice.
Please find a great artist, not just a good one. Theres enough crap tattoos out there already.
