At Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus says: "Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.
So, clearly, there are "Christians" that Jesus would not accept because they failed to 'do the will of his Father'.
What is required of us to be recognised as 'doing' the will of Jusus' Father?

Ooops! That should read "Jesus" not "Jusus" ... ( I should never try to ask questions when I am under the influence of cola beverages)

There are a couple things that identify true Christians.
1) Believe that Jesus is our leader, not a human being
Matthew 23:8 But YOU, do not YOU be called Rabbi, for one is YOUR teacher, whereas all YOU are brothers. 9 Moreover, do not call anyone YOUR father on earth, for one is YOUR Father, the heavenly One. 10 Neither be called ‘leaders,’ for YOUR Leader is one, the Christ.
2) God's kingdom is the only hope.
Matthew 6:10 Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth. And also Matthew 6:33 “Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these [other] things will be added to YOU
3) Neutrality
Acts 5:29 In answer Peter and the [other] apostles said: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men.
4) True christians should love each other, not go off to war and kill etc.
John 13:34 I am giving YOU a new commandment, that YOU love one another; just as I have loved YOU, that YOU also love one another. 35 By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have love among yourselves.”
4) The Bible should be the main focus.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
5) Preaching about God and the kingdom, just like Jesus and his apostles did.
Matthew 24:14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations;

It's okay to spell it Jusus, it isn't his real name and seeing as to how he's been dead for two millenia, I'm sure he doesn't mind. Anyway, Jesus' true followers will be marked by the ability to command mountains to jump into the sea. Consider these people to be like Neo from the Matrix, with a mouthpiece that moves mountains. Jesus says that he'll grant all their wishes. So when you see someone flying through the air in nothing but their bathrobe, yamacka(spelling?), and undies, you'll know that he knows Jesus. Everyone else will be turned away. That includes all christians, and all women. Jesus doesn't care for either, he only cares for Israelite men.
And now, my parting shots to the Wholly Babble Revisionists:
Good luck getting on board that next cloud of power christians, Jesus already took his crew. They were executed or died of natural causes two millenia ago. That's why Jesus doesn't answer prayer anymore. You've been left behind. Isn't it ironic?
Edit:
The Book of Life is a cheap knockoff of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, which predates christianity by about a thousand years. Moses and all of the other enslaved Israelites were all too familiar with the Egyptian religions and gods, one of whom, Horus, was the Son of God and was born of the virgin Isis. Feel free to look it up for yourself.

The specific point of your question is "what is the will of the Father?" regarding who is a genuine Christian. This is taking Jesus' words literally and specifically--well done! The answer is in the gospel of John.
John 6:40
“And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
The true Christian is the one who has been washed in the blood of the Lamb, and has their name written in the Lamb's Book of Life. You will know them by their fruit--as others have stated--our love one for another.

Jesus said, "By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have love among yourselves." (John 13:35)
Jesus also gave them this commission : "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things." (Matthew 28:19,20)
True Christians would be known by their love for one another and for their neighbor. And love for neighbor would be expressed by their preaching the good news of the Kingdom to them.

I too am under cola's evil influence. Christians are not rejected but some who claim to know God do not know him. We are saved by grace not works but works do prove faith.Today you will notice many religions claim Christ but clearly do not know him. There are many worshiping a false Christ that is not the Son of God who atoned for sin.

Jesus clairifed it when he said "I never knew you".... they were not saved. They really did not have a relationship with the Lord Jesus. In another place God said: These people honor me with their mouths but their hearts are far from me.
It is possible to do good works and even preach the Gospel, but never really know him.
This is a very sobering verse....a little scary.

I even have spoke of they stick to precise concepts, that are objectively verifiable, while explaining the bible. a number of those concepts are: a million. Get purpose of the author : Jesus confirmed the lack of expertise of the non secular leaders of his time for no longer understanding God’s purpose appropriate to the Sabbath. (Matthew 12:a million-7; Mark 2:27) 2. evaluate each and all of the correct provisions (context) to sort the terrific option end. seek for cohesion, and not conflict in reading scripture. An occasion is chanced on in the gospel of Mark and the letter of Paul to the Corinthians. Mark 7:7,8--Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and Scribes for invalidating God’s words because of the fact of their traditions. 1Corinthians 11:2-- Paul exhorted his fellow believers to hold rapid to the traditions he taught them. Interpretation—Christians shouldn't observe traditions that are in conflict with God’s rules. (Acts 5:29) people who're no longer in conflict with God’s rules would be spoke of three. undemanding words are given undemanding meaning, except such interpretation will bring about absurdity. occasion #a million. In Mark 9:40 3-40 seven—Jesus cautioned his listeners to cut back-off their palms, foot, and eyes if those reason sin. To stick to this actually is absurd. What Jesus meant become for his listeners to regulate their fleshly want—deaden their hurtful desires. (evaluate with Colossians 3:5) occasion #2. Genesis a million:3-31 speaks of six inventive “days”. some have interpreted the be conscious “day” as literal. this is absurd and opposite to technology. as an occasion, Scientists have chanced on rocks that are thousands and thousands of years previous. the biggest to understand-how what a inventive day ability is in Genesis 2:4 the place it mentions that the heavens and the earth have been created by ability of Jehovah in merely a “day”. The Hebrew be conscious translated day has style of meaning inclusive of a ‘long term; the time masking an incredible experience.’ (evaluate 2Peter 3:8) IMO, they're people who enable the Bible clarify itself given the above life like concepts of interpretation. I even have spoke of that they stick to Jesus' way of explaining the bible, i.e. explaining the failings written from the regulation of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms. in this style, trustworthy minds are opened to understand the Scriptures. ( Luke 24:40 4,40 5)

Matthew 7:16 states "By their fruit you will recognize them."
This means that if we are a Christian, we will naturally bear the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, paitence, kindness, goodness, faithfullness, gentleness, self-control) with the Lord's help. By ourselves we can do nothing.
