You may take either mileage or business % of actual expenses.

If you use mileage the first year you MAY switch between actual or mileage in later years - which ever gives you the greater deduction.

Not if she takes mileage - the mileage amount covers all auto expenses, including repairs. She has a choice of taking the mileage deduction or the percent of actual expenses that her business miles is of her total miles on the vehicle - usually taking mileage is better, and it's certainly easier.

You may take one or the other but not both.
Also if you started with mileage originally you may not change the method of deductions until you change auto. at that time you may select straight mileage or depreciation with all expenses.

You can take mileage OR maintenance, depreciation, etc. Not both. Record keeping for mileage is easier.
