No, not appropriate. God is male. You have a Heavenly mother too, she just isn't spoken of by name because God didn't want her to be mocked, as he is.

The god of the Bible is referred to by Jesus as father, not mother. Since Christians believe that Jesus was God (or Son of God by some), then I would think that Jesus would know.

In the story of the Creation the voice of God is heard saying, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness.” And it is completely natural to imagine that “the Spirit” was one of the participators in this conversation. When these words were carried out we find that “male and female he created them.” The only person in the deity left to represent the female is the Holy Spirit. But even if this widens the view of the model we must remember that the picture of the Deity in the Bible is the picture of a complete and perfect fellowship, so perfect that limited human language, or human relations, will never do it full justice.

Certainly. All attempts to understand God are at best metaphorical. There are passages in the Bible that compare God to a mother hen, for instance. Mostly the designation "He" comes from the (metaphorical) idea that God is our Father, with all the associations that a father-child relationship conjures. It is not traditional to refer to God as "She", but God is transcendent of things like gender. If the metaphor of a mother-child relationship, for instance, helps you understand and draw nearer to God, then by all means use it. Just don't expect traditionalists to understand ;-)

No it's not ok. Why would you want to do it anyway? And I know that he's a male cause in the Bible, it always says 'God the Father'...ever heard of a female father? Me neither. So, anything else you wanna know?

The bible refers to Gos as the Father, a definite gender designation.
But I see nothing wrong with calling God 'she', as long as you believe in him and Jesus.

God is referred to as "He" because history and the Bible were written by men. I suspect God has bigger things on His (Her?) mind to consider than what gender pronoun you use.

Actually, when Jesus was teaching the disciples to pray, He (Jesus) said to pray to the Father (God) in His (Jesus') name. So, the reference there is masculine. Jesus also states that He is about His Father's business-after he stopped being a carpenter and while He was preaching the gospel.

No it is not ok to refer to God as she. Does the word Father sound like a she? Does Son sound like a she?

It depends on what you believe. I believe men are better, so I refer to God as he. If you believe tables will rule the planet, refer to God as It.
