Baking soda works great for minor burns. Just add a little water to the baking soda until it is lumpy like pancake mix. Then apply the substance on your burn. It is painless and soothing to the affected area.
For other uses of baking soda check out the link I added on my source.

The best thing to do is ice it right away to numb the pain, but dont ever apply anything to a minor burn. And NEVER cover a burn with a bandage otherwise itll blister. Keep the area clean also since burns infect so very easily. Sometimes a spray like Bactrim soothes the skin, but a minor burn will feel better within a short time. Just hold the ice on it and take a tylenol or 2. Of course, anything more than a superficial burn warrants a trip to the EOR.

If you have an Aloe Vera plant, you can break one of the "arms" off of it and the gel that is inside can be applied to the burn. It will ease the burn. These plants are good to have on hand and are easy to grow. If you don't have one, you can put the burn in cool water to bring the heat out. An "old wive's tale" is to put butter on a burn...but don't. The reason in worked in the old days is because it was a cool substance that pulled the heat out of the burn. But it isn't the thing to use. If the area forms a blister...don't pop it. It is there to protect the area until healed. Get well soon!

Aloe Vera gel which is sometimes an ingredient in sunburn lotions.
If you have an aloe vera plant, simply break off a section of one of the thick leaves, about 3 inches, cut open and use the slimy clear liquid on the burn.
Helps in healing burns as well as soothing.

As long as the heat from the burn is down ( it didn't JUST happen) you can use vaseline, antibiotic ointment, I guess even olive oil would work. Then wrap it lightly with a tissue if you have no band aide. Basically it is the air hitting the burn that is causing your pain.

Cold water, for a number of minutes. Or apply a package of frozen peas or corn to the burn.
Because you have overheated the tissue, it will continue to cause damage unless it is thoroughly cooled.
Any form of oil continues the burning process, only water will halt it.
